Micah Million, Another artist I am sure will have a fantastic 2017. This song from December is a popular song released on GRM Daily with 200k views, I personally think it’s worthy of many more and hope that it can get the recognition it deserves.
This song has a catchy hook and good verses and is for sure to be a favourite once you give it a listen. Watch out for Micah Million in the near future.
Let me know what you think of this song!
If you haven’t heard of them already, I’d like to take the time to introduce you to Young T & Bugsey, This UK duo had a great year last year releasing great tracks such as the one above & also ‘Glistenin’ & ‘Is it a Monster’.
This track I’m showing you today is from June last year but is still a regular on my playlist and goes well with a Gin & Juice. Give these lads a listen and thank me later, I think 2017 will be a year of bangers from them.
Skrrrrrrt! Avelino, Stormzy & Skepta on a track together? It just had to be my Song of the Week.
Avelino this week dropped the video for his song ‘Energy’ on his channel & It’s powerful. Since his fire in the booth with Wretch 32 I’ve been keeping my eye on him and his metaphors and this track is fire.
Solid uptempo beat with 3 hot artists right now was always going to be one to watch, check out this track above and let me know what you think.
Energy on iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music & more: http://smarturl.it/Avelino-Energy
P.S – Bugzy Malone also released “Aggy wid it” last week which could be one to check out if your a Bugzy fan, personally I find him repetitive and not for me.
- Ed Sheeran – Shape Of You (YXNG BANE REMIX)
This remix by UK rapper Yxng Bane of the hugely successful new single by Ed Sheeran ‘Shape Of You’ is a track I instantly loved from the minute I heard it and is sure to be a favourite of yours once you listen to it.
2. THEY. – Deep End
This track from Drew & Dante better known as THEY. is a combination of some silky vocals over a strong beat, if you haven’t heard these lads they could be one for you to definitely check out!
3. 6LACK – Ex Calling
My favourite artist of 2017 has to be this man, 6LACK. His project ‘FREE 6LACK’ is phenomenal and this former battle rapper turned upcoming hip hop prodigy is one to be in your top 25 most played the minute you hear him. He is also currently about to start the US leg of the Weeknd Starboy Tour with Rae Sremmurd & Belly.
4. William Singe – Rush
The boy wonder who is busy covering tracks with his other Youtuber friends or doing some crazy mashup has dropped a solid single here and it is not the soppy shit I would expect from these type of artists. Thoroughly enjoyed this one.
5. Rae Sremmurd – Swang
Skrrrrrrt! Taken from their second album ‘Sremmlife 2’ this song just got it’s video and it is quality. The track itself really grew on me with the catchy lyrics easily singable whilst drunk and the high pitched parts actually really enjoyable & this one is definitely a song to get lit too.
Mostack, a comedic UK rapper who had fantastic success in 2016 is back with some heat for 2017.
Mostack comes with solid flows and melodies in this one and it is thoroughly enjoyable to listen to, I added this straight to my playlist and its this weeks song of the week.
You can stream it here:

P.S – ‘J Hus ft Mostack & Mist – Fisherman‘ was also released this week, another good some to check out.
AJ Tracey dropped the video for his 3rd single from his ‘Lil Tracey’ EP yesterday on YouTube and it’s my Song of the Week this week & a banger for sure.
AJ was consistently dropping heat in 2016 and doesn’t look like he’s slowing down anytime soon. This Tre Mission produced track is the latest one for us to listen to. If you haven’t already got the ‘Lil Tracey’ EP it’s definitely one for all grime lovers to grab.

Are you a strong Independent woman who don’t need no man and loves to get turnt up to trap music on the weekend perhaps? Me too! No, not really, but I know that a lot of young women who love a good trap beat & some smooth vocals sitting on it. That is why I am choosing Paigey Cakey to introduce today.
Paigey Cakey, real name Paige Meade, is a UK rapper from Hackney, London. I first heard her on tracks with Lady Leshurr, who I regularly listened to at the time.
Paigey started releasing solo tracks after & also made regular appearances on Link Up TV usually guest featuring on other artists work. I found the songs that Paigey was featuring on were usually poor quality despite her impressive verses on the them. But I’m not here to talk about songs you shouldn’t listen to so lets move onto her ‘Red Velvet’ album. This project something I was unsure I would like as Paigey is heavily American culture in her music & her fashion, but that was simply a taboo that a UK artist can’t be Americanized and make successful & popular music.
After listening to the album I found the mix of grime & trap influences a nice combination, Paigey is not only a talented rapper with clever lyrics but also has a great singing voice meaning her hooks & melodic parts of songs always sound fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed the album a lot & even kept two of the tracks ‘Pattern’ & ‘Down’ on my regular playlist. Also a mention to ‘Same Way’ & ‘NaNa’ which are two tracks not from the album highlighted in this article but could also be something for you to check out if you like what you hear from Paigey.
You’ll notice that I’ve directed this post towards the female audience primarily and the reason for this is in my experience a lot of men find it hard to rate women rappers, bar on their appearance. So if your fresh off your Bryson Tiller binge & you want something to sing in the mirror or lip sync on Snapchat then Paigey Cakey could be the artist for you!
